Check-In Time

Check-in is anytime after 3:00pm. Because SAALT registration begins at 12:30pm and the program at 1:30pm you will check into the hotel in after the Monday session.

Breakfast & Happy Hour

Breakfast is included with the room. Each evening from 5:30pm to 7:00pm there is a complimentary Happy Hour in the lobby of the hotel.

Travel Expenses

You will need to use your travel card for any meals not provided by SAALT. This will include Monday and Wednesday dinners. Breakfast is provided by the hotel; lunch will be provided each day and there is a group dinner on Tuesday night.

Remember you cannot charge any alcohol to your UMS travel card. Also, UMS is tax exempt, so state taxes should not be included on a meal bill. Be sure to let the wait staff know you will be using a UMS tax exempt credit card. The tax exempt number is on the credit card, if the restaurant needs it.

The UMS per diem for food is $46.00, including tip (no more than 20%).SAALT will pay for mileage to and from Portland.

SAALT Conference Location

The Summer Academy will be held at the Abromson Center on the USM Portland Campus. There is an attached parking garage to the Abromson Center and parking is free. The website link below includes directions and information about parking.
